I agree with you dood but I think you could take this further, how about betting when you dont have negative expectation at all. I.e. Screw the casino games and just play poker

Roulette is a sucker’s game. There is not a good bet on the table. Look it up.
A good bet is a bet with a house edge of 2% or less. Such a creature does not exist on Roulette.

i dont think you can honestly call him a “dumbass” math professor cause he did practically invent card counting and wrote a book on how to be successful in the stock market. and has made tons of money of both. and not to mention he was a math professor at MIT. point proven?

i think he’s refering to “stiff” hand. Eg. a total of 6 is a stff hand for the dealer, because they usually have to hit twice and will bust (by the rules of the casino)

A case of drunk YouTubing? WTF r u talking about?
Players who play according to the basic strategy card or “the book” are playing with the odds. “The book” is the mathematically proven best way to play.
And, no! The casino did not write the book. Edward Oakley Thorp wrote the book. He was just a dumbass math professor at MIT.

A “hard hand” is NOT called hard because it’s hard to hit. A 2,2 is a hard 4 and 4 is not hard to hit!
A “hard hand” or “hard total” is a card total taken at face value, where an Ace cannot be used as 11 without going over 21.
A soft hand can use an Ace as a 1 or an 11 without exceeding 21.
Expert Village’s casino videos are hilarious, to people who actually are experts!
